Lunar and Seasonal Yoga
all the Yoga i teach is Aligned firstly with the lunar cycle and secondly, the Seasons of the solar year.
this makes for a varied yoga timetable throughout the year, with the seasons of autumn and winter more inward focused and the spring and summer being more outward focused. i also draw upon The Wheel of the Year such as the equinoxes and the solstices, the ancient practice of Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
the dark:new moon is aligned to inner connection (meditation) and resetting. it will include movement that is restful and restorative.
the waxing moon from crescent to gibbous is connected to action with uplifting and energising movement. postures that could pose a challenge.
the full moon is associated to celebration and creative movement. meditation may be needed to calm the mind.
The waning moon from gibbous to crescent is connected to gratitude, releasing and surrender. it will include nourishing and gentle movement to allow the body to let go
